Pregnancy and Early Parenting

The transition into parenthood is often far more than you could ever have imagined, and that is just the beginning.  New parents need support in going through the ups and downs of pregnancy, birth and post-partum.  Research tells us that 67% pf couples become very unhappy with each other in the first three years of their baby’s life (Gottman, 2007). Research also tells us that the first year of baby’s life is usually harder for new moms and the second year is usually harder for dads (Bringing Home Baby, 2014).

You and your partner can benefit from learning how to parent through all the stages of your baby’s growth and can learn how to protect and sustain the intimacy and connection in your relationship.  We’ll base our work together on John and Julie Gottman’s Bringing Baby Home and their book And Baby Makes Three.
